Who Covers the East Metro
Every truck starts the day at the Woodbury shop, so Woodbury, Oakdale, Lake Elmo, Afton, Bayport, Newport, St. Paul Park, and Maplewood are covered by the whole crew. Matt, a journeyman plumber based in Inver Grove Heights, runs the south end of the East Metro through Cottage Grove, Eagan, and Hastings. To the north, Dan Pearson, master plumber and lead remodel plumber, lives just north of White Bear Lake, and Tyler Schauer lives in Forest Lake and covers White Bear Lake, Mahtomedi, Hugo, and the rest of the northeast; Tyler came to A.J. Alberts from water-conditioning work and handles much of the water testing and treatment in that area.
Across the St. Croix, Jason Wallraff, our master plumber, operations manager, licensed RPZ backflow technician, and licensed boiler technician, lives in Hudson, and Thatcher Anderson lives in River Falls and works on plumbing, water heaters, water treatment, and boilers. Water in the East Metro
The East Metro is where PFAS in drinking water became a public issue in Minnesota, and several cities here, Woodbury and Cottage Grove among them, publish PFAS results and treatment updates for their municipal wells. Municipal hardness across the area is commonly reported in the hard to very hard range on the USGS scale, which is why softener installation and softener repair are daily work here. The number that matters is the one at your tap: the free basic water test measures hardness, iron, chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and total dissolved solids, with nitrate for private wells, and does not measure PFAS.
